I really really tried to enjoy this book. I'm a big fan of this genre and I really enjoyed Forrest's The Gender Game.....but this.....this was terrible. I made it about 80% in before I had to put it down for good.The plot was boring. The characters, also boring. And the budding relationship between the two love interests was so unrealistic and felt extremely forced. I mean, she randomly meets this guy's, knows him for like 3 days and is confessing her love to him? When she doesn't know anything about him other than how "hot" he is? Come on. We can do better than that. Not to mention this plot seemed very very similar to Penelope Fletcher's Dragon book series....but wasn't nearly as well written. All in all...not satisfied in the slightest with this book.

If you ever wished you could be someone else in your life at some point you will end up wishing you could be on the receiving end of this guy's attention. Such detail makes you just sit with a watered mouth and wishful thought, then it happens, you fear for him.
I enjoyed this book, but I was a little disappointed that it didn't have the complexity as the Shade series did. While I did love the plot I felt that the characters could be more developed and complex.
But don't take my word for it. If you love her other novels I'm sure you'll enjoy this one just the same!
I loved the beginning story of Nell and Theon. Of course there were twists and turns that one might not expect or even like at the time. But if you read all three books Bella does a great job at ending with a possibility to go on. I would love that. I love stories about dragons, and good versus evil. There was a good balance of both in this book. If you are a first time reader of Bella Forrest, this is a good book to start with. It is a good stand alone book from the Shade of Vampire series. It is fast paced and an easy read. I really loved it.
This is a different interpretation on shifters than many out there thanks to the alternate dimensions aspect. The story is a little slow moving and it's hard to get a feel for the characters. Most of the secondary characters are quite unlikeable. This is only the first part of the story and it's a bit confusing where it's all going.
I wanted more from this book. A few wishy washy things the main female character did that turned me off. The book was ok so fill some time but I didn't fall in love with either character so I'm not sure I will read more or not.
The on...Bella sure knows how to make us fall for the main man. She puts so much into making these stories so real. I've never had such need to be inside a book before I started reading her books. I hope they continue, they are my happy place.
I love all of the Shade of Vampire books and this is a spill off from them. I couldn't wait to read a Shade of Dragon because I was really intrigued with the Dragons, but I guess I couldn't really identify with the his choose of mate. i wanted better for him. I just didn't personally like her. but the story is good and worth reading.
